The DSA roadmap I'd give anyone starting from zero in 2026 A lot of people overcomplicate Data Structures & Algorithms in the beginning. They jump into graphs or dynamic programming before the basics are solid, get overwhelmed, and quit within a few weeks. The truth is, DSA rewards order far more than raw effort. Here's the sequence that actually works: → Start with arrays and strings. Most interview questions are variations of these two topics. → Move to linked lists. This is usually the first real shift in thinking, since you're working with pointers instead of indexes. → Learn stacks, queues, and recursion together. They reinforce each other naturally. → Trees come next — traversals, height, and BSTs build strong problem-solving instincts. → Graphs follow once trees feel comfortable. BFS and DFS unlock most graph problems. → Dynamic programming comes last, and it's supposed to feel hard. Give it time. A few things that genuinely matter more than people realize: Understanding a solution beats memorizing it every single time. Revisiting old problems weekly keeps concepts from fading. And solving consistently for an hour a day will always outperform a stressed weekend binge before an interview. DSA isn't about speed. It's about building a way of thinking that gets sharper with every problem you sit with, even the ones that don't click right away.
