From a Tier 2/3 College to a Decent Tech Job — What Actually Matters? Your college name may help you get the first opportunity, but your skills decide how far you go. If you’re pursuing B.Tech CSE, focus on: • Strong fundamentals — DSA, OOP, DBMS, OS & Computer Networks • Build real projects — not just tutorial-based clones • Learn one tech stack deeply — Web, AI/ML, App Development, etc. • Maintain a strong GitHub and resume • Get internships and participate in hackathons • Network with developers, founders and recruiters • Improve communication and problem-solving skills What recruiters generally look for: • Problem-solving ability • Strong technical fundamentals • Practical projects • Ability to learn quickly • Communication and teamwork • Proof that you can actually build and solve problems Don’t focus on where you started. Focus on what you can build and how well you can solve problems. #BTech #CSE #EngineeringStudents #TechJobs #Placements #SoftwareDevelopment #Career
